NEWS ON GLOBAL AWARDS

All participants will benefit of having access to APIs and platforms offered by companies during extra time to finish polishing and validate its developments.

All developed APPs using iCity Platform are invited to participate to the APP CONTEST and have the opportunity to win 3.000 €. All participants have to submit its app before 28th February. You can find all the related information here.

IBM Bluemix is also offering virtual Bluemix education to any/all participants. This education is self paced and is now accessible by clicking on the Webinar link here.


In addition to the possibility to use the APIs and platforms the participants will compete for several categories of awards.

The jury will consider the originality and the combination of data (information coming from iCity and Urbiotica) and platforms (from Wolfram and IBM Bluemix) on creating services and applications.

From all the participants, the jury will select two proposals to represent Barcelona to the Global Datafest Competition. These two winning teams will go on during maximum two weeks to compete globally against contestants from 27 cities around the world participating in the Global Urban Datafest.

In addition the two selected teams will receive an award per team member:

Consisting on a Wolfram Award Letters with Mathematica and Annual subscription WolframAlpha Pro

To remark that  one (1) team from the Datafest Global Finals will also be eligible for up to $120,000 USD credit for one year of IBM Cloud usage for eligible startups.**

Moreover three specific awards are offered by sponsor companies

Consisting on an Industrial Processor Board “IGEPv2 DM3730 + Expansion” for each member of the team.

 

  • Best usage of the WOLFRAM Language applied to the Project

Consisting on a Wolfram Award Letters with Mathematica and Annual subscription WolframAlpha Pro for each member of the team.

 

Consisting on one (1) $12,000 USD credit good for any SoftLayer server or services per team.*

Judging Criteria: Application Uniqueness 25%, Usage of IBM Bluemix Services & Runtime  25%, Solution Completeness 25%, Presentation & Demo 25%. We encourage you to mix and match with other powerful APIs and third party services.

*Please note, all prizes or any prize components will be awarded to the winning team as a whole and not to each individual member of a winning team. IBM is not responsible for any disputes among team members concerning prize or prize component.

The winner will be announced the Monday following the Hackathon. When registrants enter their submissions, they will need to make sure that they list the Bluemix runtime/services used as well as their name/email address.

 

The organization is not responsible for changes of the offered awards during the event. The jury has the final decision.
