Project

Breathe Better

Summary

The main idea of our project is to provide the less polluted origin-destination way to anyone who wants to practice some sport or just to move around the city.

Full Description

We are introducing the concept of non pollution paths for citizens. Our application has two main uses, the first one is to allow anyone to find the less polluted way to reach a determined destination, and the second one is to show the best and nearest route to practice sport.

Users introduce the origin and destination of the route, and if both locations are the same they also provide the length of the route they want to run or ride. With this information the application calculates the best option and shows different layers with the pollution status of that moment, the air pressure, humidity, temperature, etc., combined with the city map and the route profile.

Additionally it provides information about public transport, the bicycle system of the city, cycle ways and low traffic streets in Madrid in order to allow the users to use this way of transport.

Using our application anyone can be informed about different sport events in the city or any other event in Madrid, people can be connected with the different social networks, and even Madrid public authorities can take advantage of it to manage traffic permits in different areas according to the pollution status and adapt the frequencies of the public transport system.
